Your physiotherapist assesses your injury and lodges your ACC claim at your first visit. No extra paperwork for you, we handle the process.

ACC pays the bulk of your treatment. You pay a small surcharge per session. Some patients qualify for fully funded care through our Integrated Care Pathway contracts.

Integrated Care Pathway (ICPMSK)
Comprehensive, fully funded rehabilitation for significant injuries at no cost to you.
Fully funded rehabilitation
The ICPMSK covers knee, shoulder, and lumbar spine injuries. Eligible patients receive up to 50 treatments with no expiry and no patient cost, ACC funds the entire programme.
Multidisciplinary team
Gain access to physiotherapists, sports medicine specialists, orthopaedic surgeons, occupational therapists, and gym-based rehabilitation, all coordinated as part of your care plan.

Do I need a referral for ACC physiotherapy?
No. You can book directly with us. Our physiotherapists are ACC-registered providers and can lodge your claim at your first appointment, no GP referral needed.
How much does ACC physiotherapy cost?
ACC covers the bulk of treatment costs. You pay a surcharge of $47–$57 per session depending on appointment type. Hand therapy follow-ups have no surcharge. Some patients may qualify for fully funded care through our Integrated Care Pathway contracts.
What is the Integrated Care Pathway (ICPMSK)?
The ICPMSK is ACC's fully funded rehabilitation programme for significant knee, shoulder, and lumbar spine injuries. Eligible patients receive up to 50 treatments with no patient cost, plus access to specialists, gym-based rehab, and multidisciplinary care.
Am I eligible for fully funded ACC treatment?
You may qualify if you have a significant injury to your knee, shoulder, or lower back that has not resolved after 6 weeks of conservative treatment, involves absence from work exceeding 2 weeks, or has an insufficient response to initial treatment. Your physiotherapist will assess eligibility at your appointment.
How many ACC treatment sessions can I have?
Standard ACC claims typically cover an initial assessment plus follow-up sessions as clinically required. Under the Integrated Care Pathway, eligible patients can receive up to 50 treatments with no expiry date.
What injuries does ACC cover?
ACC covers injuries caused by an accident, including sprains, strains, fractures, disc injuries, ACL tears, rotator cuff injuries, meniscus tears, concussion, work injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Can I get ACC treatment for a work injury?
Yes. We hold ACC contracts for workplace rehabilitation including Stay at Work and Return to Work programmes. We coordinate with your employer and ACC case manager to support your recovery. Learn more about our work injury services.
What should I bring to my first ACC appointment?
Bring your ACC claim number if you have one (we can lodge a new claim if not), any relevant imaging reports (X-rays, MRI), a list of medications, and details of how your injury occurred. Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the injured area.
